The researchers studied mice models in the laboratory wherein they introduced genetic alterations in various parts of the circadian rhythm machinery. They also exposed the mice to social stress, wherein they exposed the male mice to an unknown and dominant male. The male mice had increased stress responses depending on the time they were exposed to the stress. In a series of experiments, the team also found that the stress responses were also dependent on the internal body clock, and body weight and food intake had been negatively affected when stress happens during their inactive phase, which is during the daytime in mouse, and night-time in humans. Can a midwife become a gynecologist

  You would need to apply to medical school then to an Ob-gyn residency. I have met a few nurses that have done just that, RN to MD but not from CNM to MD. But if you want to do surgery then that is the way to go. The midwives that were in my practice did a lot of office gyn (Well Woman Care) but had no interest in surgery. If you are already a midwife why would you want to spend 8 more years relearning many of the things you already know?

  The blame has been often pushed onto so-called anti-vaxxers and anti-vaccination messages, but those among the profession and beyond believe bigger problems lie with workforce challenges and the healthcare system itself. Helen Bedford, professor of children’s health and a nurse by background, said a key factor in falling rates was the reduction in health visitor numbers. Figures from the Institute of Health Visiting show a 31.8% reduction of health visitors since they were transferred to local authorities from the NHS in 2015. Due to staff shortages, health visitors are being forced to focus more on “at-risk” families, as opposed to promoting health guidance , said professor Bedford, who works at the University College London Institute of Child’s Health.
